Our Adoption Fund

We have set up another blog that describes the adoption fund our church has set up for us to help with the finances for our adoption. The site is listed on the left of the blog under "links". Feel free to check it out.

This is where we are in our adoption process. Our social worker is sending our completed home study to the NC offices for authentication. After we receive it back we have to send it, with our completed dossier, to the Secretary of State and the Ethiopian embassy in Washington, DC. When that has been authenticated we are able to submit the dossier to Ethiopia and get on the waiting list for our referral.

Yikes! I just found this timeline out on Friday. I thought we would be able to send everything to Ethiopia within the month! It looks like it will be at least a month (maybe 2! AHH!) before we will be able to be on the list waiting for our referral.

At the time we send the dossier to Ethiopia we have to also send the international fees for both of the girls. The good thing is we have a month or more to get these necessary fees together. However, it is quite a bit to get together! These fees are the largest part of the expense for the adoption. This is the reason we decided to set up a separate blog (to give people information about our adoption fund) http://klepacadoptionfund.blogspot.com/

I know the timing is not in my hands but I must say I am getting a little antsy!!
