The boys and i just finished our 2nd week of homeschool. I think it is going well. Actually, it is going better than i expected, trying to homeschool with the babies here. The boys are a big help to me and we all work together.
However, Samuel is struggling with kindergarten. We put him in the local school because he's such a social, fun-loving kid who loved the last 2 years of half-day preschool. We knew something was wrong when he was crying about having to go back the next day from dinner-time all the way until we left him in tears at school. We have talked to the teacher and the principal as this behavior is so not like him. It got a little better after that but the bottom line is we don't think his personality is a good fit with the teacher and assistant. How anyone could not get along with Samuel (not that he EVER gets in trouble - he's too conscientious for that) is beyond all comprehension (and i wouldn't say this about all of my children :=) ) Something happened that disturbed us again on Friday even though he seems to have been doing better and so now we have to make some tough decisions. On Saturday morning he got in bed with me to snuggle and said "Aren't you so glad i don't have to go to school today so you don't have to miss me all day?" That's my positive kid communicating his feelings...
